Construction Update – IBS

The construction activities of the installation of the interim basic services (IBS) are progressing well.  The contractor Entsha Henra (Pty) Ltd is appointed to install the shared interim basic services (IBS) to all of the 23 informal settlement areas that form part of the Mossel Bay UISP Project.

The site camp was established near the Emfuleni informal settlement in Kwanonqaba and a sub-contractor (Envirosan – http://envirosan.co.za/) has been appointed for the manufacturing and installing of toilet units as well as for the required rectification work to the existing interim basic services.  The casting of the concrete panels that are used to construct the toilets are also progressing well.

There are two construction teams working simultaneously with the first work that started at the Emfuleni and Brandwacht informal areas.  The work is nearly completed at these two areas where-after the construction teams will move to the next areas.
