Mossel Bay’s population growth continually exceeds the average national population growth. The town is experiencing a dramatic growth spurt due to the expansion of the oil/gas and other industries, the influx of people from other provinces and foreigners. Housing opportunities to accommodate the growing population is therefore an ever-expanding challenge and which is resulting in the formation and expansion of informal settlements across the municipal area. The Mossel Bay UISP project is funded by the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements and is intended to improve the living conditions of all households living in informal settlements through an incremental upgrading process.
Zutari is the appointed Implementing Agent of the Mossel Bay Municipality responsible for coordinating and managing the overall deliverables of the project on behalf of the Municipality.
