THE UPGRADING OF INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS PROGRAMME (UISP) – PRECINCT 2 & 3, MOSSEL BAY: ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION IN TERMS OF THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT, 1998 (ACT 107 OF 1998) (“NEMA”)

Environmental Authorisations have been issued for the Mossel Bay UISP Precinct 2 and 3 Section 24G Environmental Applications, that were submitted to the Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEADP). 

Informal settlements located in Kwanonqaba are part of Precincts 2 and 3 that required environmental authorisation.

The interested and affected parties were notified of the decisions on Friday 2 August 2019 and now have the right to lodge an appeal against the decisions, within 20 calendar days from 2 August 2019.

The granting of the environmental authorisations is a big step forward in terms of getting the various development areas implementation ready.
