The 24th ISSP Forum took place on Thursday 7th March 2024 in Mossel Bay Municipality. This was a regionally focused Forum which consisted of a site visit (focusing on the upgrading of Kwanonqaba informal settlement as an example of ‘best-practice’ to unlock discussions), followed by a workshop at the Municipal Town Hall.
The participants and stakeholders that attended the ISSP included officials from the Mossel Bay municipality (host Municipality), as well as other Municipal officials from Garden Route District Municipalities, and select representatives from WCG Departments.
The day was a great success with everyone that attended gaining a better understanding of the challenges facing informal settlement upgrading and learning some important lessons through the experience of stakeholders involved in the process.
